Vuvuzelas and the hearing lost

A recent test carried out by the University of Pretoria showed the a Vuvuzelas top peek reaches 144 decibels! That means if you are exposed to these levels for 10,15, 20 minutes continuously, you are exposing yourself to a definite risk in noise-induced hearing loss.

A study of 11 spectators exposed to vuvuzelas at a 30,000-seat stadium showed a significant decrease in hearing. More study was needed but the trumpets were unlikely to cause complete deafness.
